Luke Honeck is praised as a “charismatic tenor” whose performances are known for their “emotional depth and lyrical beauty.” He has recently been seen as Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore and as Devon in the U.S. premiere of Missing by Brian Current. Other roles include Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Tenor in Glass’ Hydrogen Jukebox, and Count Ory in Rossini’s Le Comte Ory. On the oratorio stage, he has appeared as Uriel in Haydn’s The Creation, and as soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, and Bach’s B minor Mass. Luke has performed with Anchorage Opera, Alaska Chamber Singers, Anchorage Festival of Music, Anchorage Lutheran Concert Series, and Anchorage Concert Chorus, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. He has been awarded the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Encouragement Award, and the Ted Stevens Young Alaskan Artist Award. This fall, Luke will attend the Eastman School of Music to pursue his master’s degree in vocal performance.
